The Sonora AX Surf Tele is another Shimano great looking, entry-level, Surf Casting rod, that represents excellent value for money, for the occasional, or the new Surf angler. The convenient telescopic design, made of XT30 carbon material, has a fast action, with a sensitive solid tip for maximum bite detection and will cope with a wide range of Surf Casting scenarios.

The Sonora AX Surf is one of Shimanos most affordable telescopic Surf Casting rods and is a great choice, if you are new to the world of Surf Casting, an occasional angler, or on a very tight budget. This deceptively powerful range will safely work with leads up to 200g and give you the confidence to really power into a cast, especially when using a simple overhead casting action. For excellent bite detection, especially when fishing at night, the solid tip has a white section for increased visibility, when using a head torch.

The XT30 carbon blank of the Tele Sonora AX Surf, produces remarkably good casting performance, for such an affordable cost. In fact the action, whilst being fast in design is also quite forgiving, which helps inexperienced anglers get the maximum range from their casting technique.

Unusually for a rod in the low price range, the Sonora AX Surf is now made up of 6 and not 5 sections, compared to its predecessor, fitted with high quality, anti-tangle, stainless steel Shimano Hardlite guides, which are corrosion resistant and safe to use, with both mono and braid lines. A Shimano DPS reel seat will take the largest 14000 Surfcasting reels and has been positioned to enable you to create maximum leverage when casting.
