For some time now the use of a fluorocarbon line, instead of a braid, is a rather interesting prospective practice which originated from Japan and spread around the world. Varivas has pionered in the LRF developments and is now offering to Mediterranean anglers – probably – the most well known fluorocarbon line to be used instead of braid, the ebaru Gate Fluoro.
The attached table will help you understand the different widths and strengths of Japanese fluorocarbon lines.
The technologies that have been incorporated in this fluoro line, make it possess many of the properties expected to be found in a braided line, but at the same time they offer even more. Most of these properties found in the Varivas Mebaru Gate are outlined below, but they are explained in detail, in the extra tab referring to the Varivas technologies.
Fluorocarbon materials possess very low elasticity and close to zero memory, traits that are usually found in braids. At the same time it has very low visibility, because of the reflective factor being close to that of water, which is not the case with braided lines.
«» technology is a special composition which enables the line achieve a longer life span, greater tolerance to saltwater and UV rays, as it protects its core.
SPF technology develops an extremely smooth surface, which will help you achieve very long casts, as it forces water to slip away from its surface. Hence zero memory is achieved and spooling prevents coils. SPF also enables the line preserve its shape and round profile throughout its length.
The most loyal Light Rock Fishing enthusiasts will rather sooner, than later try the experience of fishing with a fluorocarbon line because it has so much to offer, almost the same as a braid, and at the same time prevents coils, is more sensitive against the wind, more subtle underwater and lasts longer. ebaru Gate Fluoro comes in widths tailor made to the needs of the Mediterranean LRF angler, hunting Saddled Seabreams, White Seabreams and Seabass. It is one of the best market options.
