The Pole Spear fishing style, has numerous fans around the world.

The Pole Spear technique consists of a harpoon, which works with the release tension of a rubber band. The tension is applied by holding the rubber band around ones thumb and depends on the extent to which you stretch the band, while holding the pole. After you have identified your target, you pass the rubber band through the thumb and stretch it as far as you can towards the harpoon head. When you feel confident for the shot, you release the pole and hold the rubber to create some resistance to the fish.

Underwater fishing with the Pole Spear technique is aimed at non energetic fish such as Red Mullet, Scorpions, Octopuses and Lionfish. That doesn’t mean you can’t try shots at different types of fish if you get the chance.

The Salvimar fishing harpoon is made of anodized, painted Ergal aluminum tube, with an external diameter of 18 mm and an internal diameter of 13 mm, with a total harpoon length of 2.31 m.

The Pole Spear Salvimar rubber is 60 cm long and 12 mm thick, while the pole is 8 mm with a single shark fin.

Salvimar also produces spare Pole Spear band of 12mm width and total length of 1.1 m
