Description
This is a new electric, multiplier reel that was released in 2017. Made in Japan by Daiwa, the Tanacom 500U 12V powered engine, has reduced gear ratio, which translates into greater power and durability of the mechanism. It is one of the most popular models due to its compact dimensions, low weight and retrieve speed and affordable price.
The premium engine is reliably working even under high strain and offers enough power reserves to lift also big fish up to the surface. Make no mistake, the Daiwa electric reels are well-known to be reliable and almost indestructible even under extreme conditions since many years.
The Tanacom 500U can be operated manually, or electrically. Thanks to this, we can leave to the electric reel perform the heavy tasks in the deep end of the sea and switch to manual when the fish is getting closer to the surface. This will save us a lot of time and energy and we will nonetheless appreciate the thrill of the fight towards the end.
The reel has an automatic jigging mode that raises the set to a small depth from the bottom, freeing the angler from this tedious operation. The maximum download speed is approximately 170m / Minute. The retrieve speed is adjusted by means of the Power Lever and can go as high as 130m / Min. The Tanacom 500U is equipped with an electronic depth counter, in the metric system. Thanks to the washable design it can be rinsed under running water without damaging the lifetime of the mechanism.

A 12V / 10Ah battery lasts about one day’s catch.
